Segments
Insurance
- Independent insurance agencies and retail brokersCrowdedPE-backed platforms do most of the deals, prices are near record highs, and deal volume is falling as large platforms turn to exits, so a new rollup would pay full prices against well-funded buyers.
- Managing general agents and underwritersActiveThere are hundreds of small MGAs and clear sponsor and strategic buying, but prices for scaled MGAs are high and every deal depends on keeping carrier capacity.
- Health and benefits TPAsActiveSeveral sponsors already own TPA platforms that are buying family-owned regional TPAs, but many independents remain and change of control needs only state notices.
- Independent adjusters & P&C claims servicesActiveSponsors back the large platforms and some regional firms, and thousands of small firms remain, but storm-driven volume makes leveraged rollups risky.
- Title and escrow agenciesActiveThousands of small agencies remain and brokerages, underwriters, PE-backed platforms, and tech buyers are all buying, but cyclical earnings and portable underwriter relationships keep sponsor interest selective rather than crowded.
